Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD)

Social anxiety disorder typically emerges during early adolescence. It is represented by an excessive and persistent fear of social or performance situations, leading to significant distress and impairment in academic performance, social skills, peer relationships, and family life. If untreated it can persist into adulthood and increase the risk of developing other mental health issues such as depression or substance abuse.
